I have lived most of his life in Washington, having been born in Longview, and raised
in Kent and Orting (which is near Puyallup). I graduated from Orting High School in
1994, and from Pierce College in 1995 with an AAS with a business emphasis. I also
attended Washington State University in Pullman, studying Business Administration. I
moved to Aberdeen in February 2005, having been a fan since I was a child, passing
through to the beaches. What can I say? I really do enjoy rain, and this city really does
have a charm to it.

What about family?
My wife Emily and I have 2 sons together, ages 4 and 9, which motivate me to try to be
a good example. They really are my pride and joy. By the way, Emily and I met
because her mom went to high school with my parents. We've known each other for
really all of our lives (we're told that I was at her baby shower), but mostly saw each
other in the summers as she grew up in Juneau, Alaska. My mother now lives in
Centralia, while my father, step-mother and step-brother live in Puyallup. Emily's
parents now live in Castle Rock.

state and local news and events, photography, surfing the internet and building
websites (for fun mostly, but I built this site all by myself), enjoying our parks, working
around the house and helping at my son's school (McDermoth). Also, I'm proud to
have helped contribute to some of the work Grays Harbor Vision 2020 has done, and
look forward to making some of their action points reality. As far as employment, I've
worked for the last 11 years in retail, holding a variety of positions for Walmart. Emily,
by the way, is currently a stay at home mom, who loves to tend her flowers (she's the
landscaper, I'm just the kid that shows up for the Koolaid) and to create some really
quite nice beaded jewelry.

The simplest way I can put in print is probably
POOH-vo-gull. The second thing they ask me is the
origin. It's a German name, referring to a bird that
as far as I can tell translates into English as an
eagle-owl. By the way, if you pronounce it wrong,
don't sweat it. Most people do. Also, something
else people will ask is whether I go by Steve or
Steven. I prefer Steven, but will answer to Steve.
